What a night! With not one, but two nominations for the London Mayor's Urban Food Awards.in hand, a few of the FHV team went off to City Hall yesterday to join in the celebration of people, enterprises, initiatives and organisations bringing good food to London’s table.
There was a focus this year on Women in food and we're proud to say that the 'Women of Forty Hall Vineyard' were one of the winners in the category Women in Food!
Our team of women includes FHV's founder, Sarah Vaughan-Roberts, the Chair of our Board, the Treasurer and office team, ecotherapists and and around 60% of our volunteers, so this was a fantastic acknowledgement of their contribution. There's a nice mention for our founder Sarah on the Sustain website here.
It didn't end there either! Both men and women of the Vineyard were also Highly Commended in the category Good Food on Prescription, celebrating enterprises and initiatives helping to improve people’s mental and physical health and wellbeing through the growing and production of good food. Volunteering and ecotherapy are at the heart of what we do at FHV so it was brilliant to be recognised alongside other amazing projects promoting good health in London was brilliant.
For a full listing of all the successful projects (led by both great men and women!) celebrated last night, visit the organisers London Food Link here - a huge thank you to all the team at London Food Link for organising and all their work.
