Ortega is a single varietal organic still white wine, produced exclusively from the grapes grown at Forty Hall Vineyard, London. After harvest the grapes are driven to our winemaker Will Davenport at the award winning Davenport's Vineyard in Rotherfield, East Sussex. and pressed on the same day to retain the natural flavours of the grapes.
2018 was a golden year for English Vineyards thanks to perfect weather conditions and we think this year's Ortega is FHV's best yet. Soft, delicate and dry, with an earthy quality. Perfect to drink now but will also develop further complexity with ageing.
Light-medium bodied and relatively low acidity makes for a perfect aperitif or pairs well with seafood, vegetables or salty cheeses.
No sugar was added at harvest
