WARNING TO LOCAL RESIDENTS ABOUT BIRD SCARING DEVICES CURRENTLY IN USE AT FORTY HALL VINEYARD - Click here for info
September 03, 2018
Please note that for the next six weeks, until the end of October, bird-scaring devices will be in use at the Forty Hall Vineyard on Forty Hall Farm.
The devices operate like bangers, giving off loud noises which mimic the sound of gunshots. They are in use to scare crows and ring-necked parakeets, which are doing significant damage to our grapes.
The devices are used in combination with a number of other deterrents including bird-scaring kites and protective netting.
Dog walkers please note:
The loud bangs may scare dogs, particularly while walking along the footpaths adjacent to the vineyard fields (between the Forty Hall walled garden and the bridge over Turkey Brook). If your dog has a nervous disposition, it is advisable to keep it on a lead while walking close to the vineyard fields.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further enquiries about this.
